Shoe Porn

Because my social life is obviously so full and busy, I spent Friday night cleaning out my shoe cupboard.

I know. Wild. I really should cut back on the excitement.

Rob was out late for work which was the perfect time to undertake such a task, there is no need to add to his stress or cause unnecessary alarm.

He knows how much I love shoes and obviously sees my shoes when I wear them, but because he is a man he doesn’t keep a mental calculation of how many he sees me wear.

So I think although he sees our credit card bills and knows my spending patterns – seeing all my shoes laid out while I clean the shelves would have the potential to cause a significant heart strain.

He knows I don’t actually spend ridiculous amounts on each pair, I’d rather spend less so I can get more. If that makes sense.

The cupboard was a total mess, shoes stuffed in everywhere so it was hard to tell how many are in there, see …

Until I took them all out.

Even I was shocked. Then embarrassed. Then worried Rob might come home early.

I’ve decided that I actually truly believe that my wardrobe is, in fact, Tardis like. No way would I have thought that many shoes could fit in there.

While I was cleaning the shelves Luca and Holly came upstairs and said “WHOA, MUM”.

Then Holly said “Mum, you know how you say you can never have enough shoes or handbags?”, which is just a saying in our house, no idea where it <cough> came from .. and then followed it with “well I think you can. You definitely shouldn’t get any more shoes”.

So I threw the ones I don’t wear in a huge bag for charity. Put all the summer shoes in a box in the roof and then put the rest back.

Where they look much better and it looks less like my Nutella obsession has moved on to shoes.

The worst part?

That didn’t include any of my running shoes.
